We are looking for an experienced Manager – Electrical Design & Estimation to lead our electrical design and estimation function.
JOB PURPOSE
Lead electrical design, estimation, costing and technical proposal activities while ensuring engineering quality, technical compliance, timely quotations and project profitability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electrical Design & Engineering
• Lead electrical design activities for industrial automation and electrical projects.
• Prepare and review electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, control schematics and panel layouts.
• Review load calculations, cable sizing, breaker selection and protection schemes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IEC and IS standards. - Estimation & Costing
• Manage estimation and costing for electrical panels, automation systems and turnkey projects.
• Prepare BOQ, BOM and detailed cost sheets.
• Estimate material, labour, engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning costs.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for pricing and negotiations.
• Ensure competitive quotations and project profitability. - Team Management
• Lead, guide and develop the electrical design and estimation team.
• Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
• Conduct technical reviews and improve engineering processes.
• Establish standard templates and estimation procedures. - Sales & Customer Coordination
• Coordinate with the sales team to understand customer requirements.
• Participate in technical discussions, tendering and negotiations.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
• Support enquiry-to-order conversion and timely quotation submission. - Project Coordination
• Coordinate with purchase, projects, production and service teams.
• Ensure smooth handover of confirmed orders.
• Review technical specifications, deviations and design changes.
• Resolve technical and commercial issues.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Electrical engineering and industrial automation.
• Electrical panel design and engineering.
• PLC, HMI, Servo and VFD systems.
• SLDs, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
• AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN.
• BOQ, BOM, estimation and project costing.
• MCC, PCC, switchgear and control panels.
• Component selection, sizing and IEC/IS standards.

QUALIFICATION
